Still trying..

Yes, still trying to get caught up on my blog, but really, I'm so far behind at this point, that I might as well just highlight everything in one single post.  Hopefully I will be able to stay caught up moving forward, but I'm not making any promises.

A lot of new things are happening for the Galbraith family..

JON IS OFFICIALLY DONE WITH SCHOOL, AND HAS GRADUATED WITH HIS MASTER'S DEGREE!!!!!!

We have been waiting for this Big Day for quite some time.  I seriously couldn't be more proud of Jon, and so happy that I finally get to see him a lot more!  Even though he has already stepped in as the annoying husband :)  But I guess they all are, right?  I guess he is just trying to make up for the past 4 years.  Luckily he was able to get a nice promotion with the firm he has already been working with, so he is now just planning on staying with them for the next while.  He has been spending a lot of free time catching up on golf, and will be going fly fishing on Monday for the first time in forever.  Slowly, but surely, he will be out of the awkward phase of only being able to talk about architecture, since it has basically consumed his life and everything else.

Another big event, my little brother Davis got married earlier this month!  Still can't believe he is old enough, especially since he hadn't been off of his mission for an entire year.  Weird to think I was right around the same age when I got married, he still just seems like a baby.  It's amazing how different it is when planning a wedding from the guy's side.  Not nearly as stressful, and it didn't seem like we had to do anything which was super nice.  The wedding turned out really beautiful, and it ended up being a really nice day.

Last, but certainly not least... WE ARE HAVING A BABY GIRL!!! :)

I am due on October 14th, and on Sunday I will officially be 20 weeks, halfway!!  Can't believe I am already so far along.  However, it does seem forever ago when we first found out we were pregnant.  No one can prepare you for finally getting that positive mark on the test, regardless of how long you have been waiting for that day.  I'm pretty sure I took three more tests over the next two days, just to make sure.. haha.  The first trimester of my pregnancy seemed it was never going to end, and now I'm already well into the second trimester.  I was one of the really lucky one's to get to enjoy the fun morning (more like 24/7) sickness, which wasn't awesome what so ever.  Now that has passed, the rest of my pregnancy has been a breeze.  We had our first "official" ultrasound (went to Fetal Photo around 15 weeks) on Monday, and this little peanut is already a whooping 12 ounces, and is measuring 5 days early.  We may have a chunky little babe on our hands.  She is also already kicking like crazy!!  Felt the first little flutters a little before 16 weeks, and just last week, Jon felt her for the first time.  Such a cool experience!  Now she just goes to town all day long, especially while I'm just sitting at my desk at work. Keeps me entertained on those long drawn out days.  Pregnancy is so different than I could have ever imagined.  It still doesn't feel real some times, since it seems that we had waited for this day for a really long time, but truly feeling blessed for this little miracle growing inside of me!

Sorry for the novel, and only one picture, but let's be real... I doubt anyone is even checking in on my blog anyways.. so might as well document all of this for myself :)

NY.

Last October (yes, still trying to get caught up from 6 months ago) I was finally able to go with Jon on one of his school trips, this time to NYC. Neither of us had ever been before, but had been wanting to plan something for quite some time, so the timing worked out perfectly. It was seriously one of the funnest trips we had been on, minus staying in a hostile and having a total creepy man come into our room in the middle of the night. Still trying to block that one out. It also rained/snowed the majority of the trip, but really didn't slow us down much.

We were on the go 24/7, and still didn't get to see everything we wanted over the week that we were there, so we most definitely will be planning a trip to go back real soon. However, we were able to cross off many items of our "to do/gotta see" list. Checked out Times Square (our second hotel we stayed in was right there, which was pretty sweet), drooled over all the amazing architecture (seriously, Jon was in heaven), went to the MOMA and The Met, got to meet with several architects that helped design the towers and the 9/11 memorial, as well as the Director for the Joyce Dance Theater. Jon was also able to get a private (not even open to the general public) tour of the 9/11 memorial. I was pretty bummed I wasn't able to go with him, but luckily he was able to get some pretty neat pictures. Our third hotel's view looked out to the new towers that are being built, as well as the memorial. Pretty surreal.

My highlights of the trip were for sure going and seeing Wicked and eating at Serendipity. I had been wanting to see Wicked on Broadway for quite some time, and it for sure was everything I had hoped for. Serendipity was also delish, and surprisingly we were able to get right in. Oh man, totally craving their frozen hot chocolate right now.

One of Jon's good friends is also in the program with him, so it was fun having his wife and kid come along as well. Nanc is a riot, and Van has to be one of the cutest little buddies.

(view from our third hotel)

Just looking at these pictures make me miss this place. I could totally see myself living in a busy city like NYC.. that is without kids of course. Subways weren't made for strollers.

Nightmare on 13th.

Yep..
Haunted Houses still scare the crap out of me.

Still loving my job..

It doesn't hurt when you get to go fishing for the day, instead of working in the office.
Oh, and you better believe I also caught the biggest fish :)

Only at the Emery's..

McElle was going to another dance,
this time it was her Senior Homecoming.
(totally weird she is already a senior)

She looked absolutely gorgeous, as usual.

Surprisingly, we actually had some time to spare after we finished getting her ready.
Sooooo... we decided it would be a great idea for this to be awaiting on the stairs while her date came to pick her up..

He didn't seem too amused.
Maybe because Barb apologized on our behalf as soon as he took a step into our house.
At least we made a good first impression.

The Aggies.

For Papa J's birthday, we went and watched some football.
We are technically Ute fans,
but college football is fun to watch regardless.

and really, who can pass up a good hot dog and some kettle corn?
Even if you have to drive through construction the whole way home, and have it take twice as long.

25.

Oh man, am I really already 25?

Regardless, this year was just as fun as any other.
On top of taking me shopping at one of my favorite stores,
Jon also got us tickets to the Adele concert.

Jon and I have always loved going to concerts,
but I will have to say Adele was one of the best!
She is amazing live, and it was fun being in the downtown atmosphere.

Thanks again for all of the birthday wishes, and gifts!
I have the best family and friends out there!
(Even if my siblings continue to remind me how old I am becoming)

3 Years Down.

and still madly in love.

I caved in..

and surprised Jon with this for his birthday.

I'll admit, I was totally against it,
but I always give in to a good surprise.

DLand 2011

Ok, I've been slacking quite a bit in the blogging world, so where do I begin??

Back in August (see I told you it has been some time), we decided we wanted to go on a last minute road trip to California before summer ended, and everyone had to go back to school. It was literally last minute. We had gone to dinner before the baseball game (previously posted), and randomly started talking that we needed to go to Disneyland! Really, is there a better idea? Obviously not, since two weeks later we were on our way!

The DLand 2011 crew consisted of Jon, Davis, Aleesha, McElle, Caden, and myself. It really was such a good time! I know what most of you are thinking, why would six grown ups (well I guess McElle and Caden can't be considered grown ups) want to go to Disneyland? Umm hello.. it's the happiest place on earth, so more like why not?

We drove in style in Caden's family Escalade,
and packed ourselves into one room at the Marriott.
Yeaaaaahhhh..
Six in one room.
But Aleesha's dad hooked us up, and got us a free room,
so we managed.

We also sported awesome custom neon fanny packs,
that included our trip nicknames.
You don't need to judge us, we already received plenty of weird looks from everyone else.

Davis was even called out on his nickname "Drama King" by a 10 year old kid on the rapids ride.
He really had no comeback.
I think it was a first.
However, no one was laughing after the ride, since all of us were drenched from head to toe.

Tower of Terror was for sure the trip favorite,
as we did go on it at least 17 times over the two days we were there.
However, Jon would disagree.
He absolutely hates this ride.
We convinced him to go on it at least once, and he refused to go any more than that.

Just some of the awesome memories we were able to catch on camera..

While we were there we celebrated Jon's 27th Birthday,
and enjoyed some good food at the Cheesecake Factory.

On our way home, we had stopped in Vegas to ride the Desperado/Buffalo Bill's roller coaster.
Oh man.
It was seriously intense, and the fastest roller coaster I have ever been on.
I don't know if it was fun, or totally ruined my life.
I'm leaning towards the latter.

Jon also surprised me, and we stopped at Caesar's Palace so I could go shopping at H&M as an early birthday present.
Love that place.
Too bad the new one that just came to town doesn't even compare.

Even though the drive home seemed like it was never ending,
it was still plenty entertaining.
We had to drive through a big thunderstorm,
and ended up having to call 911 to report a field that we saw burst into flames from the lightning.

Overall, the trip was very successful!
I would think I would be sick of Disneyland, since we have been 3 times in the past three years, but it really doesn't get old.
